PREFECTS’ GUILD 2004/05
It is a great privilege for me to present the annual report of the prefects’ guild for the year 2005.
I’m proud to say that our prefects’ guild has completed another year of dedicated service to our alma mater.
First, I wish to thank our former senior prefect, deputy senior prefect and the members of the guild, who were guiding us in our activities.
Achievements
Our guild includes many outstanding sportsmen and students of academic excellence. Mas.G.Carthigan, Mas.T.Mathanraj and Mas.S.Kawshihan of mathematics stream, Mas.P.Sathees of bio stream and Mas.T.Kanatheepan of arts stream excelled in the A/L examination. As I mentioned earlier, our members represented college cricket, soccer, basket ball, volley ball and athletic teams. Mas.T.Mathanraj served as the cricket captain, Mas.A.Crishan served as the soccer captain, Mas.N.Sanji served as the basket ball captain and Mas.P.Sathees served as the athletic captain.
Our deputy senior prefect Mas.K.Amalan, Mas.S.Abalayan and Mas.E.Shugirthanan won the coveted award in scouting, the president’s award this year. And also our guild contains two gold medalists. Our senior prefect Mas.M.Sutharsan won the gold medal in English oratory and Mas.T.Kanatheepan in Tamil oratory.
Meetings
Weekly meetings are held regularly to access the work done and give assignment of duties for the following week. Both the senior prefect and deputy senior prefect jointly conduct these meetings.
In addition, the principle chairs monthly meetings and if the situation demands in urgent meetings, in which he discusses, advises and guides us with our problems and responsibilities and how to handle them. His aid to us in this regard is invaluable.
Activities
Our prefects and monitors play an important role in maintaining the unique standard of our college. To accomplish this task we encaged our selves in helping various activities of the school. We have a responsibility to maintain the discipline among the students. We help in arranging college hall for college functions especially prize giving. We also lend our helping hand in inter house athletic meet, cricket matches and soccer matches.
Many activities organized by the prefect’s guild to celebrate teachers’ day. The senior prefect gave a speech to commemorate teachers on the day of the event. As well as the teachers’ day, we help the college administration in celebrating annual college day on May 6th. During the college day celebrations we played a volleyball match with teachers.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I express my gratitude to the principal for all his invaluable help, advices and guidance, and the vice principals and teachers for their tireless guidance and cooperation. I also take this opportunity to thank all the members of the prefects’ guild for their dedicating service to our college. I thank god almighty for watching and guiding us and enabling us to fulfill our duties.
