-Mrs. Indramathy Ramachandra, Lecturer – English, Palaly Teachers’ College was the chief guest.

–Mr. S.Ratnasingam, Assistant Director of Education-Science was the chief guest.
183 prizes were awarded to the students.

-Organised by the Student Christian Movement was held with Rev. & Mrs. A. Stephen as chief guests.

Library Day
–Mr. M.Vethanathan, Head-Hindu Culture-University of Jaffna was the chief guest. Books were donated by the students. 55 students received certificates.
20.07.2007:
Area Manager North East – Hatton National Bank Ltd, Mr. Vasanthan Beadle visited the college Students’ Savings Unit.
05.10.2007:
Teachers’ Day
-Organised by the OBA. The day commenced with service followed by assembly. The President, OBA Mr. N.Kugathasan delivered the welcome address, and speeches were delivered on behalf of students, parents and Old Boys. The Tutorial and Non Tutorial Staff who had completed fifteen years were felicitated by the college and the OBA. Mr. P.M Karunainayagam, Tutorial Staff and Mr. M.Apputhurai, Non Tutorial Staff have completed 30 years of service, and Mr. D.J.Thevathason 35 years of service. Prizes were awarded to the best three teachers who participated in the competitions organised by the college under Staff Development Programme. These competitions included English Short Story Writing, Designing Power Point presentations, and the Preparation of Visual Aids. The day ended with a Cultural programme and games followed by fellowship lunch.

Middle School & Junior Secondary Prize Giving & Parents’ Day
The Vice Principal Mr.S.Antonypillai chaired the function. The Former vice Principal Mr. J.Amalaseelan and Mrs. Mary Josephine Amalaseelan graced the occasion as chief guests. Prizes were distributed by Mrs. Amalaseelan.

Lion B.R.Ranjan, District Coordinator, Northern Region, was the chief guest. Thirty nine students were inducted as Leos.

Mr.B.Thavapalan, Attorney-at-Law & Notary Public, & Unofficial Magistrate, and Mrs.Vijitha Thavapalan were the chief guests.

56th Annual Festival of Carols by the combined choirs of schools and colleges of the North was held at St. John’s College.

Essay Writing, Verse writing, Thirukkural in Tamil & English, and Killithadu, a traditional game, were organised among students. Mr. S.Pathmanathan, Retired Principal, Palaly Teachers’ Training College, was the chief guest. 82 students received certificates.
